Now Until the Moment of Your Last Breath

Wowzers! Been gone a while folks, but with good reason! I finally got a paying gig here in Vancouver(The place where I now live.) I found a Drink and Draw-like group called Artery and it's pretty cool. Here's some art I've done at various meets. I'm going to my first ever Dr. Sketchy's tomorrow so expect some more stuff soon.

Hours

"You wrapped my leg with yours, told me to tell you what you missed that night. I could've talked for hours, just the two of us in that dark room, wrapped in each other."

Soonest

Well, it's been far too long since I've updated. Blame my old computer crapping out and Fallout 3. Nobodies Issue 2 starts next month for the Calgary Expo in April.

Vicious Ambitious, the indy comic book label to which I am a part of, started a podcast. You can subscribe to the feed here.

That's all for now.

Future Sailors

Hey,

Here's a pic of me as the Prisoner, done for a giveaway poster at Coversion last weekend. Next we have a Victorian Age Ghost Rider and a Caleb-inspired head pile. Drink and draw is awesome!

I'll be working on a comic for the rest of the month. Still waiting for the Mad Max trilogy to pop-up on blu-ray. I have an itchin' to draw post-apocalyptic Aussies.

Shock Me Like Electric Eel

Hey, here's some new stuff from drink and draw. I'll be doing a short sci-fi story for Vicious Ambitious this month before I start on any Nobodies pages.

Beep-boop!

Ice Flow, Nowhere to Go!

Here's a cornucopia of stuff including a 17 month old fanart of Peaches and Iggy Pop I forgot I did. Ah wells! I also did Olga Gurlukovich from Metal Gear 2 and a quick Takk from my Nobodies. I'm currently scheduled to do one more Nobodies issue for the fall as well as a collaboration for the new Vicious Ambitious Sci-Fi Anthology, Rocket Juice.

When We Say Kettlebell, We Mean Strength

Hey,

Watched Hulk this weekend. Pretty good, everything I expected in a Hulk Movie. I like this new one and the Ang Lee one for different reasons. I drew some Hulk sketches at Murph's after the movie. Here's some Drink and Draw stuff too.

I've Got Another Puzzle For You

Well, I've finally started drawing again after a long deserved break. I recently lent my cherished copy of Claire Wendling's Iguana Bay 2.0 to a friend who's been fiercely linking me to get me more traffic. Much appreciated, chum. (I didn't realize 'chum' is almost 'much' backwards.)

For those who don't know who Claire Wendling is, get on that shit and buy her stuff immediately. Iguana Bay 2.0 is a unique published sketchbook in the sense that it's old and new. It's got all the material from the '96 release of Iguana Bay 1.0 in it, along with brand new redo's of every sketch from 96 done 8 years later. It's amazing to see how much she's progressed, refined, and grown since then.

So, as always, I steal/try it for myself. I dug out my first sketchbook. Admittedly, my first sketchbook wasn't started until I was 20, blame it on my former habit of drawing on scrap paper. I remember getting this sketchbook as a gift for painting the windows of my animation school for the Stampede. I forget the administrative assistant's name, I wanna say Melissa, but she was cool. In fact, she was hot. Long strawberry-blond locks that would put Goldilocks to shame, and buddy holly glasses. But I digress. I finished that lil sketchbook in about a year, much of the material done was very loose, unfinished and experimenting in mediums I was trying for the first time. Materials like blue pencils and illustration markers.

After flipping though the relic, I found two pieces I chose to redo. You can definitely see the increase in anatomy knowledge, line confidence and mastery of the materials. I still wouldn't consider myself pro, but after doing this, I can see myself getting closer.

I have a few things to do in near future, like a script for the second issue of the Nobodies, some fanart and some more experimental pics. More to come. Drink and Draw tomorrow.

Oh, and I've got another blogger buddy. My good friend, Richard Barkman. Fellow comic booker and Luchadore enthusiast. Check him out and shower him with praise or just soap and water. Either way, he wins.

That's all for now.

Bigmouth Strikes Again

Well, another Drink and Draw tonight. I live for those. Come to them if you can, email me for info. Tonight I finished a Vicious Ambitious Drawing challenge. This is Fan Art of characters made by my VA brethren. Any true VA fan can name these figures off.

On a sidenote, here's some new blogs of my fellow artists you should be checking out - Nick Johnson - Ginger at Large, Johnny Luu - Honorary Thundercat, Steve Gervais - Next in line to be Santa Claus and Dan Andrews - Ex-Circus Strongman.

And although I don't know him personally, James Jean's art kicks my ass everytime I see it.

That's it for now, bitches.

Brandy Alexander

Here's two straight-to-pen, drawing from memory sketches of the X-Statix! Dead Girl came out okay, but Guy Smith looks like some queer Hanna-Barbara character.

I'm doing these to brush up on a quick, clean style for the Marvel Sketchcards I'm going to be doing soon. I'm thinking I might actually pencil the real ones and in some cases, use tonal marker. I can't post the actual art until they're approved and the NDA nullified, but that doesn't mean I can't post the prelim sketches.

In due time me chumleys.

Vagina Mine

This lil pic was done for my Vicious Ambitious bi-monthly drawing challenge. We did 'cops' as our first one of 2008. So here's the Hot Fuzz. I don't think I captured Simon Pegg too well, I endeavor to try harder next time!

Music is my Hot Hot Sex

Here's some Stephen Silver-esque heads I drew in a teahouse. If you don't know who Stephen Silver is, then get on it! He's the designer for Kim Possible, Danny Phantom and even a Goonies Cartoon! I got a sketch of Sloth from him last time he was in Calgary. Yeah, I rock.

Make Your Own Kind of Music

I bought a bunch of discount markers today. Big sale, I cleaned house. So expect some color on this blog o' mine in marker form.

I wrote a bit of rant in this post about why I like Suicide Girls and why I wouldn't turn away someone who didn't look like them. Came out kinda faggy so I deleted it 'cept for this tidbit cause it's fuckin' brilliant.

Pierced Nipples Not Required, but Preferred.
