Joie de Vivre
I did my first Dr. Sketchy's last night. For the uninitiated, it's life drawing with Burlesque girls and booze. The venue, Guilt & Co, was pretty cool, though they were out of Steak Tartar. It's been a long time since I've life drawn and I definitely struggled to find my groove again. Kicked in around the 5 minute poses though I started to overwork the 10 minute ones. The model was the lovely Cara Milk who did a great job and even did a quick burlesque number as an intermission. The biggest challenge with drawing burlesque is what to do focus on each pose. There's the pose/gesture, but there's also the clothing/details, the pattern/texture and the lighting/shine. One of the unscanned drawings won a sketchbook for being too French in a cartoony/funny way. Bully for me!I already bought my ticket to the next one.

Now Until the Moment of Your Last Breath
Wowzers! Been gone a while folks, but with good reason! I finally got a paying gig here in Vancouver(The place where I now live.) I found a Drink and Draw-like group called Artery and it's pretty cool. Here's some art I've done at various meets. I'm going to my first ever Dr. Sketchy's tomorrow so expect some more stuff soon.

I joined a Calgary Daily Bloggers group recently, even though I totally don't post daily. Anyways, every Sunday there's a theme and this weeks is 'Favorite Scene from a Disney Movie. So here's mine. Love the Emperor's New Groove.
The other DBers are Johhny, Steve, Jenn, Keri, and G. Gerald. Check 'em out.

Calgary Expo
Hey gang, I've been really busy lately with my latest comic book venture, The Five Stages of Near-Death Lesbian Sex. It's on sale at the Vicious Ambitious table at the Calgary Expo this very weekend! I'll get back to the Royal Tenenbaums next week and after that, maybe Life Aquatic? Maybe Fantasy Mission Force? Stay tuned.

Pea to the Nut 2
In an effort to get my friend Chad to post more of his webcomic, I've taken it upon myself to do the next one to get the ball rolling again. I can only speculate based on conversations with him that is the next logical installment of the ever popular duo. So here's a new Pea to the Nut Comic by Chad Veinot as channeled by me. Enjoy!

A Takk
A pic of 'Takk' from the 'Nobodies.' This is an older version of her, notice the lack of the eyepatch as well as her warhammer, also named 'Takk.' I don't think I'll get the issue done for this year's convention, but I am STILL working on the series. Just gotta get all these other projects wrangled.
